PICASA is a convenient and smart tool for making collage pictures and slide show. I was given an assignment to create a slideshow of science project using PICASA. So, for a science project, I choose an activity on rat dissection experiment in form 4 science student class in my school. I took some pictures during the students were dissecting the rat. As they know that I’m using the pictures for my assignment, they were so excited and cooperative. 

Something interesting happened during the dissection class. 

What was that? 

One of the groups gets a pregnant mummy rat. At first they were thinking that the rat was a good fleshy rat since the rat was big. But as they carefully dissect it, cutting gently layer by layer, later on, they discovered a bundle of fetus. The girls I the group were a bit kind of pity to carry on the dissection, but one of the boys were so inquisitive and excited to reveal the physical view of the fetus more clearly. I assisted them for the dissection. The fetuses were separated and the whole class rounded the table. One of the students said’ “Pity the mummy rat”… The whole class rounded the table excitedly observing the fetus. 

However, at the end of the experiment, the students did learn a lot on the technique of dissection identify the organs and discovered the fetus in a pregnant mummy rat! 

Later, I compile the picture and did my slideshow as to complete the assignment given to me. It was interesting when blending the features gives into the pictures. I realized that making the slideshow in PICASA is more a less of making movie maker, only that, I find the PICASA is more user friendly. After completing and blogged the slide show, I tried out collage. So, with the same pictures that I have, I did collage the pictures. I was so amazed as this was my first time collaging pictures. It really triggers creativity during collaging pictures. In addition, I did tried to combine the collage into slideshow, it was amazing! 

Alhamdulillah, at last, I was able to complete my assignment and on top of that, I did learnt to collage pictures and blogged them with the slideshow. However, if I did have enough time, I would explore o use of other features provided in PICASA to create different presentable picture. So, in future, insyaallah, I would create a better one and use it for my school magazine.
