SMARTBOARD
Smart board is an interactive learning board which enables students to be hands-on during TNL (teaching and learning). Smart board provides interesting tools whereby students/ educators able to scratch /write or draw on the board. There must be some questions would appear in mind, what is the different using a black board-chalk and white board-marker pen ? Black board – chalk. When we write on the black board using chalk, this chalk is fragile and would provide dust as we write on the board. As dust free on air, we are tending to inhale the dust. We are using the chalk almost every day, just imagine that how much dust we are collect in our body ! As time goes, we are tend to have sinus, asthma, polyps growth and if we realize, the skin on which the fingers that are holding the chalk during writing is actually get rough!
White board and marker pens. People often mistakenly use permanent markers on whiteboard and ruin the whiteboard surface. Whiteboard markers often have a pungent and strong odor that will make us feel uncomfortable. So, in short, both make our hand dirty!
What is the specialty of Smart board ? As I mentioned earlier, Smart board is an interactive board, whereby the students or educators able to scratch, draw or write on the board using the Smart board tools using the digital pen and duster to write and to wipe off. It’s easy and amazing! How to use it ? Lessons are prepared on the slides using Notebook software and the slides being presented aided with LCD to the Smart board.
I was assign to develop the slides, I realized that creating the slides were more a less as using the Power Point Presentation. But creating slides using the Notebook software is much more easier as the tools being provided in the software, for example, the activity or exercises are made more easier as there are a lot of templates for activities (example: games, anagram, matching image, pick and drop), even, it is applicable for all the subjects and creates an interesting learning using the templates provided.
Alhamdullilah, I’ve complete creating a lesson on Symbiosis using the Notebook software. I find that it is interesting and good interactive tool by conducting TNL using Smartboard, whereby involves students to actively interact during TNL session and at the same time building confidence and team work among the students.
